ASPEN
Featuring straight-grained, creamy white sapwood, this wood machines smoothly (though occasional fussiness may arise) and sands easily. Primarily employed as a paint-grade material, it also excels when used for staining dark colors, thanks to its non-distinctive grain pattern and color resemblance to maple.
Board lengths: 6' – 16' readily available in all lengths on a regular basis
Board widths: 4.5” – 6” on average
ALDER (KNOTTY)
Originating from the Pacific Northwest, alder boasts a stunning light brown hue with yellow or reddish tones. Its uniform texture, punctuated by brown and dark knots, lends it a charmingly rustic appearance. Infused with mineral streaks and adorned with small to large dark open knots, alder embodies natural beauty. Due to its origins in smaller trees, long and wide boards are not available.
Board lengths: 8' – 10' only

ALDER (SELECT)
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, this wood boasts a beautiful light brown hue with yellow or reddish tones and a uniform texture. It machines well and, when stained, can resemble cherry. Featuring mineral streaks and small, tight knots, alder originates from smaller trees and as such, long and wide boards are not available.

BLACK WALNUT
Black walnut stands out as a luxurious hardwood species with a distinctively dark coloration. Its creamy white sapwood contrasts with the heartwood, which can vary from a light to a rich chocolate brown. This wood typically includes a percentage of sapwood along with some small knots.
Board lengths: 8' (heavy) – 10', occasionally 12’ lengths are available by special order
Board widths: generally don't exceed 4-1/2" – 6"
CHERRY
This premium wood exhibits stunning color and depth. Its heartwood ranges from a rich red to reddish-brown, darkening gracefully over time and with exposure to light. The grade face may contain a small percentage of sapwood as well as small pin knots, pith flecks, and mineral streaks.
Board lengths: 8' – 12' (heavy 9' and 10' with limited possible lengths up to 12')
Board widths: generally don't exceed 6” – 6-1/2”
EASTERN WHITE PINE (CLEAR)
This wood showcases a beautiful whitish-yellow to creamy color with a smooth texture and a straight, uniform grain. It readily accepts stain, and we recommend using a sealer for optimal results. Our specification is a clear grade, which may include minimal amounts of mineral streaks or small pin knots.

EASTERN WHITE PINE (KNOTTY)
This beautiful rustic wood features a whitish-yellow to creamy color adorned with dark brown to black knots, making it a popular choice for cottages and other rustic applications. It accepts stain well, and we recommend using a sealer for best results. The board face can have sound or tight knots.

FIR
A softwood native to the Northwestern regions of North America, fir exhibits a color spectrum from soft yellow to reddish-brown. It is widely utilized for paint and stain grade applications, as well as structural purposes. The grain of fir can vary from relatively straight to open and wavy, with occasional darker streaks or minor pitch pockets within the wood.

FIR (VERTICAL GRAIN)
Hailing from the Northwestern regions of North America, this softwood boasts colors ranging from soft yellow to reddish-brown. Commonly employed for doors and various millwork, it's typically stained to lighter hues or clear-coated. Vertical grain fir exhibits a linear grain pattern with minimal sap and pitch pockets.

HICKORY
This unique wood presents striking, bold contrasts between its white sapwood and its pale to reddish-brown heartwood. It is exceptionally hard, which can pose challenges during machining, but it can be sanded to achieve a smooth finish. The grain pattern can range from predominantly straight to wavy. It wil have some small knots, mineral streaks, and distinct color variations.

MAPLE (HARD WHITE)
This beautiful white wood is a staple in high-quality millwork products, renowned for its bright creamy white color and fine texture. When clear-coated, it exudes a clean and sleek aesthetic, while staining it dark imbues it with a deep and rich appearance. Its natural dark mineral streaks and black flecks only enhance its character further!

Board widths: 4” – 5.5” on average, 10” and 12” boards are very rare and subject to availability
POPLAR
Poplar exhibits a color spectrum from yellow to white in its sapwood and from yellowish-brown to olive green in its heartwood. With a fine texture and straight grain, it machines exceptionally well. It paints and stains with ease, showcasing exceptional results with darker stains. Craftsmen delight in working with poplar for its smoothness and fantastic qualities.
Board lengths: 6' – 16' typically with longer sizes more readily available, 8' lengths are less readily available

RED OAK
A North American classic, oak has been a staple in millwork for over 200 years. Our manufacturing process utilizes the top grades of Northern and Appalachian Oak. With excellent machinability, oak ranges in color from light brown to pinkish reddish-brown, featuring minimal mineral streaks and pin knots. Renowned as the benchmark, our oak grade sets the standard that others strive to emulate. When stained, red oak reveals a beautiful depth of finish, thanks to its porous texture, a characteristic often challenging to achieve with other wood species.

WHITE OAK (PLAIN SAWN)
Another North American classic, white oak currently enjoys popularity in the luxury millwork market. Unlike red oak, it boasts lighter and greyer tones, with distinct color variation ranging from light to dark brown. Its coarser texture and longer rays contribute to a stunning classic appearance, while its grain characteristics, varying from straight to more open and wavy, offer a wide array of staining and finishing possibilities.
Board lengths: 8' – 12', 14' and longer are subject to availability
Board widths: 4" – 5.5" on average
WHITE OAK (RIFT & QUARTER SAWN)
This iconic North American hardwood showcases lighter and greyer hues, exhibiting notable color diversity spanning from pale to deep brown. Its rugged texture and elongated grain patterns enhance its timeless appeal and offer versatile staining and finishing options.

WESTERN RED CEDAR (CLEAR)
Western red cedar, a softwood native to the West Coast, exudes a fragrant aroma and boasts a soft, lightweight texture. Its color palette spans from reddish to pinkish-brown, with traces of white in the sapwood. Highly prized for its exceptional resistance to decay, it finds widespread use in exterior, rustic, and cottage applications.
